Quests worth doing
Which quests to do at each level, what a cheap early quest unlocks 30 levels later, which rewards are random or your pick, and the traps to skip.
Every number and name on this page is read live from the game data.
Quests do two different jobs. Up to about level 30 they are a real share of your EXP. Past 30 they are a source of scrolls, mesos, fame and free potions, so pick them for that and do not expect them to carry your levels.
| Level band | Normal quests as a share of that band's EXP |
|---|---|
| 10 to 21 | about 38% |
| 21 to 30 | about 17% |
| 30 to 40 | about 10% |
| 40 to 50 | about 4% |
This is our own sum of every town quest, leaving out job and citizenship quests, against our EXP table, which is not confirmed for Classic World. Read it as a direction. Nobody does every quest, so your real share is lower. It also fits the slowdown players report at 35 to 50, which by our sums is grinding, not a missed quest.
The quest list has everything. The quest tracker merges what several quests want into one list, so take two or three that hunt the same maps and turn them in together.
Three kinds of reward
Quest pages label these. Knowing which one you are looking at decides what is worth chasing.
- Always given. Most rewards. You get every row, unless the rows are split by job. gives one pair of level 60 gloves per class.
- Random roll. The client gives each row a weight, which we read as a random roll. The percentages below come from those weights. rolls one of 14 weapon scrolls at about 7% each with no job filter. is 70% and 30% . You cannot steer it, so plan to sell what you do not use.
- Your pick. The client marks these rows differently, and we read that as your choice. 's own log describes choosing. and offer Greater weapon scrolls for your class, a Cape stat scroll, and the sword or the earrings. Pick the weapon type or stat you will actually use, or the one that sells best on the market. Greater scrolls add more but are 10% to work. Intermediate is 60% and Lesser is 100%.
Do early, or backtrack later
This is the part most lists miss. Cheap low-level quests are prerequisites for the good ones, and you only find out at 48 when an NPC has nothing for you. All of these links are client prerequisites. Missed one? Our data shows no upper level limit on these quests, so go back and do it.

Level 1 to 16
Maple Island. Everything here is small, so do what is on your way. The EXP that matters: 's seven-part quiz from to pays 490 in total, and pay 200, and into pays 120 and rolls one of seven starter hats. pays 120 and wants 10 Blue Snail Shells plus an , so keep those shells.
gives , a chair that restores 30 HP every 10 seconds. Do it, but do not stress if you miss it. in Lith Harbor sells with the same recovery for 1,000 mesos.
Level 13. to are four talk steps from to and . Together they pay 1,696 EXP, 1,224 mesos and 20 Blue Potions, roughly 40% of level 13 on our table for no fighting.
Level 15 and 16. to pay 2,676 EXP, but step 3, , needs a and our tables show no drop or shop for it. Arcforging makes one from one and 200 mesos, or check the market. at 19 also has a 12.5% roll for it. pays 813 with a random Hat Accuracy scroll, one in three each of Lesser, Intermediate and Greater. All of these matter later, see the table above.
Crafting. Nexon opens crafting at level 10. Each of the six masters has three quests. The level 15 and level 25 quests need that master's level 10 quest first, and also needs , because it has you make ingots with Smithing. Do the level 10 and 15 quests for crafts you plan to use, because they cost a few dozen kills and a little material. Do the level 25 quests too, even if you do not craft, with the level 10 quest each one needs. Each pays a Catalyst, and Catalysts sold far above an NPC in early November, while most of the goods these quests ask for sold cheaply. The step only asks you to hold the item, so a bought one should count, not confirmed. The Leatherworking chair costs far more than the others. The Carpenter chair is flagged untradable and showed no sales, so that quest means crafting it. also wants 30 kills, a mage's job. Whether crafting itself needs these quests is unknown.
| Master | Level 10: 188 EXP, 351 mesos | Level 15: 669 EXP, 497 mesos, a Kit | Level 25: 3,060 EXP, 804 mesos, a Catalyst |
|---|---|---|---|
The level 25 quests ask for crafted goods. Most of those sold cheaply between players, so most of these quests are cheap either way. See crafting. At level 12 the Omok and card set quests from , such as , pay 334 EXP and 409 mesos each.
Level 17 to 31: if you ran out of quests
One report so far says quests run out at 17. Quests at 17 and just above are worth a lot of a level, they are just spread across towns. Share-of-level figures here and in the next table use our EXP table, which is not confirmed for Classic World, so they are estimates.
| Level | Chain | Pays | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| 17 | and , to | 5,892 EXP, 3,330 mesos, 30 Blue Potions, | More than half of level 17 on our table. The last step eats a , see below |
| 17 | Citizenship arc 1, housing quests | 4,320 to 4,615 EXP, plus 1,544 EXP | Housing is about 14% of level 17 even if you never buy |
| 18 | , to | 3,159 EXP, 1,579 mesos, 15 Blue Potions | Rolls or at 50% each |
| 19 | 1,380 EXP, 614 mesos | Rolls one of 8 gems at 12.5% each. A here saves you one later | |
| 20 | Legend of the Snail, to | 7,477 EXP, 2,434 mesos, 20 Blue Potions | Starts and ends at . Stop at the fourth step, see traps |

| 22 | , to | 6,420 EXP, 2,148 mesos, 30 White Potions, ingots | Ends in class boots. Needs to first |
| 23 | Stranger, , | 4,860 EXP, 1,490 mesos, 20 Blue Potions, | Opens Kerning arc 3 |
| 25 | 3,060 EXP, 804 mesos, 1 fame | Random Overall DEF scroll, Intermediate or Greater at 50% each. The quest log says you stop paying to enter the Forest of Patience | |
| 28 | Caretaker's Ledger, to | 24,540 EXP, 5,352 mesos, 2 fame, 10 Elixirs, 10 Mana Elixirs, 50 Blue Potions, | About a third of level 28, plus 10 Elixirs and 10 Mana Elixirs. Step 1 needs 25 . We have no drop row, and the quest log sends you to fairies in , or . Those maps hold or , only two each with a 180 second respawn, among stronger mobs such as , and . Fairies have 500 M.DEF, so Magicians should expect poor damage. The earrings are the only row in their roll, so expect them |
| 29 | 4,430 EXP, 921 mesos | Rolls or at 50% each. The quest log says the shoe comes from | |
| 30 | , | 9,560 EXP, 1,930 mesos | Plain mob drops, and you likely hold some already |
| 31 | , , | 11,060 EXP, 1,988 mesos, 40 Blue Potions | Opens at 46. Step 1 needs 10 , from Woodcrafting or the market. Rank 1 makes one from 10 and 100 mesos, so crafting them takes 100 branches |
At 30 the job advancement chain sits on top of this. Only the first two of its four steps pay EXP, 4,780 each, so 9,560 in total for all four classes. Steps are in job advancement.
takes a , so check your bags before you start the chain. rolls one free at 50%, and sells it for 9,000 mesos. Do first if you can wait a level.
Level 32 to 50: pick by reward
| Level | Chain | Pays | Worth it for |

| 34 | The Old Tree, to | 25,586 EXP, 7,031 mesos, 5 fame | Six talk steps pay 17,712 EXP. The fame sits behind step 7, which needs 100 . The quest log ties them to , but our tables list no drop row. Then a kill |
| 35 | , to | 20,160 EXP, 12,222 mesos, 6 fame, 30 Blue Potions, 30 Mana Elixirs, return scrolls | Mesos. The last step alone pays 10,000 |
| 36 | 's dolls, to | 35,100 EXP, 5,700 mesos, 9 fame | Most fame of any chain. See below |
| 37 | Florina, to | 29,240 EXP, 15,210 mesos, 2 fame, 105 Blue Potions | Mesos and MP. Every step needs , 65 in total. Steps 1 and 2 suit 37, with 15 and 30 . Steps 3 and 4 hold 10,530 of the mesos and want 40 more bananas, 70 more claws and 70 from , level 49, so expect those in the mid 40s |
| 41 | 's deliveries, to | 34,680 EXP, 5,204 mesos, 90 Blue Potions, buff potions | MP-poor classes. Steps 3 and 4 hunt , level 45, and , level 50, so expect to finish several levels after 41. Random Shoes Speed scroll at the end, needs a |
| 42 | , to | 33,522 EXP, 4,921 mesos, 50 Blue Potions | Random Cape Greater scroll, 25% each of STR, DEX, INT, LUK. Expect market buys and to finish in the 50s. Step 1 wants 15 and 30 , both crafted, plus 30 . Step 3, , wants 30 , a from level 58 and a . See the keep list |
| 44 | , to | 29,820 EXP, 4,167 mesos, 10 Elixirs, 15 Power Elixirs | Random Gloves scroll, 25% each of Attack or Magic Attack, Intermediate or Greater. Two of the three steps need items no mob we can show drops, so buy those from players. See boss gates |
| 46 | , to | 29,160 EXP, 3,906 mesos, 25 Blue Potions | One of three Icarus Capes at random. Step 2, , wants 50 and 20 . We can show no source for the leaf, so take the 7,560 EXP delivery, and do not stack for the rest until you know where it comes from |
| 47 | , | 22,800 EXP, 2,954 mesos, 25 White Potions, | Level 50 cape, +3 DEX and +4 accuracy. wants 30 , listed only on around Florina Beach, so buy them from players. : stop or go. You must finish the Secret Book first. Steps 1 to 4 pay 28,080 EXP and 6 fame for 370 dolls, with ore rolls on the way and a Gloves scroll on step 4, Attack or Magic Attack Intermediate at 50% each. Step 5 costs 200 more dolls for 7,020 EXP, 3 fame and a level 40 helm. The helm rows are keyed by job, so a character with a job should get their own. If the helm beats what you wear or you want the fame, go on. If not, stop at 4, keep 30 for and sell the rest. The doll drop rate is unknown, so plan by your own rate on .
Gladius: take the first step, then price the rest. is a delivery to and pays 12,900 EXP. In the week to 7 Nov the four parts below together cost far more than the sword or the earrings sold for, on few reward sales, so buy them only if you want the reward or the EXP. needs a . The full list is one each of , , and . In our tables, Star Rock comes from and Piece of Ice from the 50% roll on . Ancient Scroll is listed from . Stores list all four. For the feather, the quest log points you to for the materials, which is the only other lead we have. At the end lets you keep (warrior only, level 45, 62 W.ATK, 7 slots) or hand it back for (level 50, 38 M.DEF, +4 avoidability). Non-warriors take the earrings.
Sauna Robe. lists and as plain rows with no weight or job split, so our data reads as both. A split the data does not show, such as by gender, is possible. Either robe fits any class: level 30, +1 all stats, 75 W.DEF, 10 HP and MP, 10 slots. Bowmen in particular have no job overall before 50.
Boss-locked quests
Five quests need a boss, and bosses are contested. The listed respawn is 3,600 seconds, and Nexon made boss timers more random on 21 October. Log and read kills on the boss timers.
| Quest | Needs | Is it worth waiting? |
|---|---|---|
| from | No. We show no reward | |
| Kill | Yes, if you can get the 100 for step 7. The quest log ties them to , with no drop row in our tables. The top fame quest at 5, and the first six steps pay without the branches or the kill | |
| , reference data, unconfirmed, from (report a drop), plus 3 | Yes, if you want the scroll. Stores list the too, so buying one may beat waiting. No mob we can show drops the or the for , so buy them from players. needs neither and pays 9,940 EXP, so do that first | |
| Citizen arcs | for Henesys , for Kerning | Plan a party, see citizenship |
Traps
- , for now. The only item reward is , warrior only. It asks for 10 , 30 , 20 , 20 and a . The 10,800 EXP is not worth that for other classes. We can show no source for the feather, so warriors should not stack for it either until they know where it comes from.
- if you want a specific scroll. Your exact weapon type is about 7%. Warrior weapons take 8 of the 14 rows, and Magician, Bowman and Thief each have 2. Do it for the EXP and because it opens 's chain, and expect to sell the scroll.
- . The quest log's own ending is that the shell turns you into a snail. Stop at .
- The scroll from . is 10% to work, and failure has a 50% chance to destroy the item. You did the quest for the fame. Never put it on gloves you care about.
- Vendoring materials. See the keep list.
Keep these items
Later quests ask for these, so do not sell them to an NPC. The same goes for scrolls that roll off-class: players report selling quest scrolls for their first real money, far above what an NPC pays. Check the market.
- : , plus 30 more for once the Forgotten Hollow opens.
- and : one each for Gladius. Arcforging also uses Piece of Ice.
- : one each for , and . Our tables show no drop or shop for it, only the 12.5% roll on and an Arcforging recipe.
- : one for . Our tables show no drop or shop for it, only Arcforging one , listed from and , and the 12.5% roll on .
- : one each for and . Listed only from , level 58, and stores list it.
- : one for . Arcforging rank 6 makes it from one , listed from and higher mobs. Reference data, unconfirmed, also has it from (report a drop).
Best of each reward
- EXP per quest: 's three at 65, , and , at 25,900 each. The last two pay level 60 class gloves and .
- Mesos per quest: 10,000, 7,020, and 3,510.
- Fame per quest: 5. Then 3 each on , , , and .
- Fame per chain: 9, 6, 5, The Old Tree 5.
- Free MP: gives 30 Mana Elixirs. 's deliveries give 90 Blue Potions. Florina pays 105 more, if you can reach the beach and find .
Coming: Forgotten Hollow
Nexon says the area opens in November, and 18 November is the expected date, so these may not be available yet. Ten quests are in our data, to , at levels 45, 50 and 55, for 133,900 EXP in total. rolls a Cape Accuracy scroll. and are picks. One report so far says the way in is through the Tree Dungeon near Ellinia or deep Sleepywood, so treat that as a lead until it opens.
Before 18 November
From level 25, run the Mark of the Beta route for , a free hat with +1 all stats, 24 W.DEF and 7 slots. It closes on 18 November. Steps are in what's in the game.
What next
Check the chains that fit your level, add them to the quest tracker, and use the pathfinder for the long walks. Training covers the grind between them.
