Crafting: the six professions, what to make, and why it is not income
Crafting is for gear you will wear. The six masters, recipes by rank, home stations, gear with no other source, how to level a profession, and the few places margin might exist.

Crafting is for gear you will wear, not for income. The client shows why: 224 of 275 equipment recipes charge a fee exactly equal to the item's NPC value. That looks deliberate. On those 224, selling to an NPC can never pay, because the materials are the loss. Counting raw materials at NPC value plus every processing fee, only comes out ahead across all gear, by 10 mesos. Inputs you already hold change one case: sells for 8,400, while its 6,000 fee plus 8 and 24 at NPC value come to 6,824, so it beats vendoring those inputs by 1,576. Adding an , worth 1,000 at an NPC, cuts that to 576. Refined from ore, the same knuckle comes out 160 behind.
A shows it exactly: it sells for 3,500, the fee is 3,500, and you still supply 5 . Of 366 recipes, only 8 beat NPC value at full cost. Players agree: several say it loses money, none reports crafting for profit, and two said on 5 and 6 Nov that buying is now cheaper.
So decide per item. Check market prices first, and craft only if you want the item and buying costs more.

On item pages and the crafting page, Woodcrafting shows as Carpentry and Arcforge as Arcforging. Swords barely exist in crafting: Weaponcrafting makes only two.
