Warrior build variants: dexless and more
Does dexless work in Classic World? Unproven, and nobody has posted results. What it gains at 30, what it loses from 40, and the armor and scroll limits most guides skip.
Every number and name on this page is read live from the game data.
Short answer: dexless is unproven in Classic World. Nobody has posted results. On paper it is slightly ahead at 30 and behind from 40 on, it locks you out of most warrior armor, and the upside if you do get onto a real weapon is modest. It is a poor trade for a first character.
Dexless warrior
Keep DEX at 5 and put everything in STR: 157 at 30, 257 at 50, 357 at 70, 507 at 100. There are three ways to meet weapon requirements: the bat, other zero-DEX weapons, and DEX on gear.
The bat and other zero-DEX weapons
is the famous one. It nearly matches a normal weapon at 30, then falls away fast. It is not the only option. These need no DEX:
| Level | Weapon | W.ATK | Type | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | 50 | Polearm | Rank 5 | |
| 25 | 50 | 2H blunt | Rank 5 | |
| 25 | 44 | 1H blunt | 13,500 | |
| 25 | 41 | 1H blunt | 13,500 | |
| 25 | 40 | 1H blunt | , reported as rolled | |
| 27 | 33 | 1H sword | 14,700 | |
| 30 | 50 | 2H sword | Rank 6, | |
| 35 | 52 | 1H sword, +15 Speed | , | |
| 40 | 57 | 1H sword | ||
| 40 | 56 | 1H blunt | ||
| 50 | 66 | 1H blunt | , | |
| 60 | 76 | 1H blunt | None in our tables | |
| 70 | 86 | 1H blunt |
Drops are reported, none counted. Look at what that list means by branch: tubes suit a Page, the whip and umbrella suit a sword user, and a Spearman has no good zero-DEX weapon after the Mop.
DEX on gear
This is the funded path: stack DEX on gear until you meet a real weapon's requirement. Everything in it assumes gear DEX counts toward requirements, which is not confirmed in Classic World. If it does not count, this path does not exist.
Even if it does, the limits are tight:
- Only overalls (10 slots), capes (5) and earrings (5) take DEX scrolls. That is 20 slots. Hat scrolls give Accuracy, which does not meet a DEX requirement. No hat or shoe DEX scroll exists.
- Scroll rates: Lesser +1 at 100%, Intermediate +2 at 60%, Greater +3 at 10%.
- sells at 40,000 mesos each. Who may buy there is unconfirmed. Cape and earring DEX scrolls have no shop or drop row in our tables. is an Arcforging rank 8 recipe and a rank 10 recipe, and rank 10 is unconfirmed.
- On Lesser scrolls you can buy, the most you can reach is about 34 to 36 DEX: 5 base, +4 from or +6 from a female overall such as , +3 from , 10 Overall Lesser scrolls and 12 from level 40 hat, gloves and boots. Level 50 DEX pieces need 40, so they stay out of reach. That covers a level 35 two-hander at best. The mid 40s would need 10 more Lesser scrolls from those two recipes.
- A level 70 two-hander needs 70 DEX. Level 70 DEX armor needs 60 DEX to wear, and even then at least 14 of the 20 slots must land +2 scrolls at 60%.
Losing one DEX item can lock you out of your weapon. Whether a failed scroll spends a slot is also unconfirmed.
The cost most guides skip: armor
Warrior armor has DEX gates too. From level 20 up, almost every warrior piece asks for DEX: 10 at 20, 20 at 30, 30 at 40, 40 at 50, 60 at 70. needs 40 and needs 60.
At 5 DEX you are stuck around level 15 armor. The all-class pieces with no gate barely help: or at 30 has the same 75 W.DEF as a level 15 mail, and at 26 is below level 15 warrior pants. Capes and earrings have no DEX gate.
How it compares
Direction only, from a community damage model with client Weapon Attack. Nothing here is measured.
| Level | Normal weapon | Dexless option | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 | Level 25 shop weapon (45), 135 STR, 27 DEX, or a level 30 drop once you have 30 DEX at 32 | Bat, Wrench or Mop | Dexless slightly ahead. A standard build can hold the Mop and Wrench too, which leaves only the 22 extra STR |
| 40 | Bat, | Behind | |
| 50 | , Bat | Behind | |
| 60 | , Bat | Behind, and the Bat further still | |
| 70 | , Bat | Behind, and the Bat further still | |
| 70 | The same axe at 357 STR, 5 DEX, if you could wear it | A modest lead. That is the whole prize |
Misses cost on top of that. By our estimate a dexless warrior has about 10 less base Accuracy at 30 and about 26 less at 70: 69 against 95 at 60 DEX. See Accuracy explained.
Verdict. The lead at 30 is small, the loss from 40 is large, and the upside at the end is small. Your first warrior should take the standard route. Dexless is a project for a second character with savings, and only if gear DEX is confirmed to count.
| Build | Good | Bad |
|---|---|---|
| Dexless | More STR. Slight lead around 30 | Misses, armor locked, costly scrolls, unproven |
| Standard (DEX to about 60) | Reliable on any budget | Less STR |
A cheaper thing to try
Run low DEX on a Mop, Wrench or Bat through the early 30s. New AP can go into DEX later with no reset, so you are not locked in.
It costs about 10 Accuracy at 30 for 22 fewer DEX, and the damage lead fades as you pay the DEX back. You will still want about 20 DEX for level 30 armor. This is untested, so treat it as an option, not advice.
Do not lean on a reset as a safety net. An is 7,000 NX and resets all stats, including AP put into HP and MP. Single resets also sold for mesos between players in the week to 7 Nov. Store listings show only asking prices, so ask in chat what one recently sold for.
Other warrior variants
- Low DEX is simply the standard build: stop DEX around 60. Note that this leaves you 10 short of a level 70 two-hander unless gear DEX counts.
- LUK warrior: no data either way.
HP washing
Treat it as gone. An April preview reported the developers viewing it as unfair and essentially a bug. is now a flat percentage, and the AP Reset Scroll resets everything at once. Nobody has confirmed every route is closed, but do not plan around it.
