How to make mesos
Quests pay you in things, and things are worth more than quest mesos. A money ladder by level, what to keep or sell, real quest payouts, and what to avoid.
Every number and name on this page is read live from the game data.
Quests pay you in things, and the things are worth far more than the mesos. One pass through every quest on open content pays about 240,000 mesos, and that counts both citizenship towns. Citizenship dailies may add to that. Compare the total with one attack scroll on market prices. So the question at each level is not "what pays the most mesos?" but "what can I keep, and what can I sell?"
There is little measured income data so far, and drop rates are mostly unmeasured. Treat any hourly figure, including ours, with care.
The ladder
1. Before you can trade. Monsters and quests pay you, but you cannot sell to players until your trade lock ends. Do quests, keep every scroll and valuable drop, and sell only junk gear to NPCs. Watch your Etc tab: you cannot drop items yet.
2. Never vendor a scroll. Every scroll pays 1 meso at an NPC. One new player did not realise "scroll" meant an equipment scroll and not a travel scroll. If it says Lesser, Intermediate, Greater or Chaos, keep it.
3. Level 20: . Jane pays one of 14 weapon Intermediates. By our reading of the client it is a random roll, 1 in 14 each, with no class filter. You will usually roll something you cannot use. That is fine: it is money, not a waste. Sell it to someone who can.
4. Level 21: Kerning PQ and . By the same reading it pays a random earring stat Intermediate, 1 in 4 each. Players report selling quest and PQ scrolls for many times what the quest paid in mesos.
5. Spend less. This is worth more than any farming spot at this stage. Players report that killing in 1 or 2 hits is the biggest saver, and low mobs still drop. A couple of reports add that training below your level does the same job. Quests that pay potions also help: the potions guide lists them.
6. Level 27 and 37: looks like a pick, not a roll. These citizen rewards read as your choice, though no player has confirmed it yet: earring stat Intermediate at 27 and Overall Intermediate at 37, from or , and or . comes after 10 . Reference data lists that item only on , which has no map in our tables. to share its stats and do spawn, but we have no drop data for them. Stores list the item, so buy it from a player if Fairies do not drop it. Check market prices first. Take what you will use, or what sells best.
7. Level 29: Glass Shoe, sell or hand in. takes one and pays 921 mesos, 4,430 EXP and a or , by our reading 1 in 2 each. Handing it in is the only source in our tables for those two items, though stores list both. needs the Ice, and some Arcforge recipes need one or the other. If you want those, hand it in. If not, the shoe sells to an NPC for 250, and players paid far more in early November. See . is the reported source, with no measured rate.
