Jr. Balrog
The Lv. 80 boss at the end of the Sleepywood dungeon: 325,400 HP, three magic attacks, 23 portals in, a three-hour base timer, and no recorded kill.
Every number and name on this page is read live from the game data.
We have no record of a Jr. Balrog kill as of 7 Nov 2026, so this page is a route and a checklist, not a strategy. It is also not the next step after Mushmom. At 325,400 HP it is about five Zombie Mushmoms, with far harder hits.
Base timer three hours, more random since 21 Oct. No respawn gap has been reported for this boss, so plan on at least the base timer and do not set an exact alarm. If the boss is missing, try another channel, and log the kill on the boss timers page. Rules are in the boss overview.
Getting there
23 portals from . The walk decides whether you reach the boss at all, so judge your party by it.
| Leg | Portals | What matters |
|---|---|---|
| Sleepywood to | 9 | Last shop on the route, |
| to IV, then | 5 | Take the bottom left exit from the Park, not the hidden portal to the Grave |
| and | 2 | Lv. 62 and on II |
| , | 2 | Hidden portal, see below |
| to IV, then | 5 | Lv. 70 W.ATK 386 from Entrance I, Lv. 75 W.ATK 410 on III and IV |
Two portals on the shortest route are hidden. On , take the hidden lower portal, not the visible upper exit. Both reach , and by our reading the lower one saves a walk. On Another Entrance, take the lower hidden portal to . The upper hidden portal goes to , a side map. Check the pathfinder on your first trip.
If your party cannot clear Tauromacis and Taurospear comfortably, you have your answer before the boss. That is our reasoning, not a known threshold. Tauros are weak to ice and resist lightning.
Plan one trip
- There is no shop past Ant Tunnel Park. Everything you will use comes with you.
- Dying sends you to Sleepywood, by the map's return field, so a death means 23 portals again. Not tested.
- The sanctuary maps set Another Entrance as their forced return, which should mean a logout puts you there. That is our reading of the field, not tested.
- costs 600 at . Carry one for the way home.
- , and share one 30-second cooldown, so pack flat potions as well. See potions.
An empty Sanctuary means change channel. The boss is the only thing in there, and on a three-hour base timer the shared boss timers log matters more here than anywhere else.
What it does
| Attack | Type | Before magic defence |
|---|---|---|
| First | Fire magic, 175% | 1,871 |
| Second | Fire magic, 150% | 1,604 |
| Third | Neutral magic, 125% | 1,336 |
All three listed attacks are magic, from 1,069 M.ATK. So M.DEF and HP come first. W.DEF only matters for contact, and whether avoid helps against magic is unconfirmed. Contact is flagged, and its W.ATK is 972, so do not stand inside it either.
- Regen, 1,627 HP per tick, the highest of any live mob. Tick length is unknown, so we cannot say how much it slows a kill. If ticks are short, a weak party may not out-damage it. Time it and tell us.
- Stagger 6,750. Plan on it walking through you.
What helps
- Cleric: reduces all damage taken and raises Heal recovery for the party. Jr. Balrog is not undead, so is support only. is your attack: its text names devil-based mobs and the boss is weak to holy. How much extra is unknown.
- Fire/Poison: does no real damage here. is neutral, so you still have an attack.
- Ice/Lightning: is neutral.
- Physical classes: accuracy is the wall. By our estimate 157 at Lv. 80, 188 at Lv. 75 and 219 at Lv. 70. Potions add only 5 to 7, so gear and skills have to close the gap. See the boss overview for how this works.
No level recommendation here has been tested, so we do not print one.
Drops
Reference data, unconfirmed. We have no confirmed report of any of these, so do not plan around them. If you get one, report it through the drop report. That report would be news.

| Warrior | , , , , , |
| Magician | (Lv. 65) |

| Thief | , , (also warrior) |

Weapons are Lv. 70 unless marked. There is no wand, two-handed axe or polearm row, so this is not one weapon per class.
