A chooser with no tier list: what each class costs to run, how it plays, where its hard stretch sits, and how to try before you commit.
Every number and name on this page is read live from the game data.
There is no agreed best class, and this page will not pretend otherwise. Published tier lists disagree, none shows its method, and most predate the 29 October balance patch. No live EXP-per-hour figures exist yet for any class. So choose by how you want to play and what you can afford to run.
Try before you commit
You can hold 3 characters on one account, and the first real choice comes at level 10. That is 3,347 EXP on the table our tools use, and the Maple Island and Lith Harbor quests pay 1,759 of it. A second class at 10 costs little, so try one.
Decide before you spend AP. The class choice at 10 and the branch at 30 are permanent: the client holds no job-change item. and move points, not jobs. Each is 7,000 NX. They also sold for mesos between players in the week to 7 Nov. Store listings show only asking prices, so ask in chat what one recently sold for. Deleting a character comes with a waiting period.

The MP row surprises people: every class pays about the same per attack at rank 20. What differs is what else you burn, and how early you depend on skills.
Stats at 10. Nexon names only level 10 for all four jobs. Older references list stat gates, some higher than this and some on a different stat, but nobody reports being refused. The gate you can see is the weapon, so have 20 to 25 of your main stat by 10. If you place your own AP, hold the last few until you have spoken to your instructor. That costs nothing if there is no gate.
Quest money will not buy that weapon. Island and Lith Harbor quests pay 1,653 mesos, less a reported 300 for the boat. So hunt for mesos, and check your bag after you advance before you shop.
Warrior
Pick it if you want to stand in the middle and swing, and you value not dying.
Players report it as the usual first character. is the only multi-target attack at 1st job that hits up to 6, and warriors can get by on basic attacks while mesos are short.
The cost. Low DEX means low accuracy, and by our estimate that is the wall from 30 to 50. Do not skip . Players also report basic-attacking warriors being mistaken for bots.
Branches at 30. All three keep Power Strike and Slash Blast as main attacks.
makes Fighter the party buffer, at +40 W.ATK and -40 W.DEF at rank 30, and its Final Attack reaches 3 targets. Axe or sword.
Page trades that for , which weakens up to 4 mobs. Sword or blunt.
Pick it if you like planning, and you will accept a thin wallet early.
Levels 10 to 20 are the worst of it. Players report that it eases by 20 to 25. At first every kill costs MP, so hunt what you kill in one or two casts. and restore 1 MP per meso. beats on MP and range.
The cost. Mage gear follows a LUK rule: almost all mage armor from 20 to 70 needs LUK equal to its level minus 10. Whether spells can miss is not settled, though DEX does nothing for a mage either way.
Branches at 30. Elements decide more here than anywhere else. Among monsters of level 40 to 49, 60% of spawns are holy weak, 22% fire weak, 8% lightning weak and 5% ice weak.
Fire/Poison: and , which reaches up to 6. Poison weak is rare, so Poison Breath is usually neutral.
Ice/Lightning: and , up to 6 targets. Fewest weak mobs in the 40s, more from 60 up.
Cleric: , and . Best fit on the undead-heavy 40s. Players are split: some call it the best support, others say it feels weak solo.
Pick it if you want to keep your distance and put nearly every point into one stat.
has 350 range, and adds up to 120. gives both accuracy and evasion, so by our estimate bowmen feel the accuracy wall least. Arrows cost 1 mesos each at any grocer.
The cost. Arrows are cheap but constant. One report so far calls bowmen the cheapest class to run. Stock up, because a bag running empty ends your session.
Branches at 30.
Hunter: hits up to 6 with a stun chance. One report so far says it handles more map shapes.
Crossbowman: pierces up to 6, with damage falling on each one. The same report says it is better on long flat maps.
Pick it if you want speed and single-target damage, and you enjoy gear decisions.
Claw or dagger is the first question, because the two branches use different weapons.
The cost. costs 500 mesos at any grocer, and better stars cost far more. One report so far calls Assassins the costliest class to run, but by our estimate MP is the bigger running cost, ahead of star recharges. Check which runs out first.
The gap. No thief skill hits more than 2 targets today. If you want to clear a platform at once, this is the wrong class until a 3rd job arrives. Players report resentment toward Assassins on crowded maps because of their long reach, so expect some of that.
Branches at 30.
Assassin: claws and stars, long reach, .
Bandit: daggers, , and no stars. Players often assume it leads on single targets, but nobody has shown a test since the patch.
Old rates. Classic World has its own balance. Lucky Seven scaling, Heal training and similar lore from older versions do not carry over.
3rd-job dreams. Only 1st and 2nd job exist. Do not pick on a future Hero or Chief Bandit. Nexon says more "may be introduced sequentially", with no date.
Crowd share. What is popular changes, and we have no live population data.
Old damage charts. Poison Breath, Thunder Bolt, Focus, Rush and Final Attack on Spearman all changed on 29 October. Date any number you read against that.
Solo or party
Nobody has measured this. One report so far says warriors and thieves solo best. A party bonus exists, but no figures are confirmed. If you plan to play with friends, compare what each of you brings: Rage, Bless and Heal all reach nearby party members, so they pay more with company.
Your town
Decide your citizenship town with your class in mind. Henesys sells Overall STR and DEX scrolls, Kerning City sells INT and LUK. Whether a non-citizen can buy from either shop, and what citizenship grade Overall scrolls need, is not confirmed. The choice matters most for mages, whose overalls run to level 70. Warrior and thief overalls end at 35, and bowmen have none until 50. One report so far says citizenship is tied to the account and costs mesos to change. See citizenship.
