NX, Leaf Points and the Cash Shop: what is worth buying

What paying does and does not get you, NX against Leaf Points, real Cash Shop prices, packs against singles, the 96-hour rule, and a spending order if you only buy a little.

Every number and name on this page is read live from the game data.

  • If you only spend a little
  • Two currencies
  • What actually affects play
  • Packs or singles
  • If you want mesos from NX
  • Crates and looks
  • Not confirmed yet

You need no real money for any class, map, party quest or boss. The useful question is whether mesos can do the job. Tradable Cash items sold for mesos in the week to 7 Nov, so a free player may not need NX at all. Before you spend either, ask in chat what the item you want recently sold for. Store listings show only asking prices.

The full catalogue is on the Cash Shop page. Prices below are from the client catalogue.

If you only spend a little

Spend nothing until you know you are staying. If you buy once, buy the Convenience pack. This is our opinion. Nothing here is required, and experienced players lean cheaper rather than earlier.

  1. If you buy once: the Convenience pack. It covers a build mistake and gives you charms.
  2. If you train long sessions: a pet and Auto HP, 6,000 NX, knowing the pet is a 30-day rental. See Pets.
  3. Resets: only when a build is truly stuck, and ask in chat what one recently sold for first. The class guides exist so that you need not.

Two currencies

NXLeaf Points
How you get itBought through your Nexon account. Players report buying through Steam tooEvent coupons. The client holds five sizes from 1,000 to 100,000. Nexon's events so far have paid 1,000 and 5,000
Where it worksShared with main MapleStoryClassic World only
What it cannot buyNothingEssentials packs, which are NX only. Gifting uses NX, from level 12

Maple Points do not carry over. Dated claims, including the Founder's Package, are in What is in the game.

If NX purchases fail through Steam, you are not alone. Players hit errors at launch. Steam support fixed it for some, and buying on Nexon's site worked for one.

Watch out

Your first NX purchase starts a 96-hour Cash item trade restriction. Megaphones are blocked during it as well, for all characters on that account in that world. If you buy NX to resell an item, it will sit for four days.

What actually affects play

ItemPriceWhat it doesOur view
7,000 NX

Resets all stats, including AP in HP and MP
Only to fix a real mistake. It sold for mesos between players in the week to 7 Nov, so ask in chat what one recently sold for first. Store listings show only asking prices
7,000 NXResets all skills except Beginner skillsThe same. The SP planner is free
800 NX, 3 for 2,300, 12 for 8,400No EXP loss on death while you hold one, full HP and MP on revive, then it is used upFor bosses and risky maps. Nexon gives no figure for what a death costs
, 2,500 NX eachYour pet uses your potions below a threshold you setIn our view the purchase that most changes how training feels. It needs a pet, and pets are 30-day rentals
, 3,000 NX eachPet picks up nearby items and mesos, then triples the rangeComfort. Client text mentions Meso Magnet or Item Pouch, which we cannot find, so see Pets before you buy
, 5,000 NX each+5 storage slots, or +5 on a tab you choose, to 150Buy when space is what stops you. A couple by level 50 seems about right to us
Store permits1,500 or 3,000 NXA store while your character stays at itSee the Free Market guide
Megaphones350 NX, 1,500 NX for world or itemChannel, world or item announcements, from level 15Mostly for selling

Is it pay-to-win? No stats are sold directly, and nothing on sale shortens the EXP curve. EXP coupons exist in the client, but the Cash Shop catalogue has no row for them. Still, NX reaches mesos and mesos buy scrolled gear, so money can reach power by that road. Players argue both ways on whether this is fair. We state the mechanism and leave the verdict to you.

Packs or singles

PackNXLimitContainsSingles cost
Convenience9,900Once per accountSP Reset, AP Reset, Selective 5-slot Coupon, 10 Safety Charms, 10 Super Megaphones19,000 for the first three alone
Pet Booster9,900Once per accountAuto HP, Auto MP, Auto Move, Expanded Auto Move, 30 Premium Pet Food11,000 for the four skills
Monthly9,900Once per world, again after 30 days20 Megaphones, transparent hat, cape and shoes, 5 Double Item Megaphones, Special Store Permit, Portable Storage, all 30 daysSeveral contents are not sold singly
Beauty5,900Once per accountMystery Fashion Crate, Mystery Hair Coupon, Mystery Face Coupon12,500

Packs are for use. Singles are for resale. Every Essentials pack and everything inside it is untradable, so a pack bought to resell earns nothing.

The Convenience pack costs less than two resets on its own, which makes it the first thing to look at if you will spend anything. Pet Booster only pays if you want all four skills. Auto HP alone is cheaper singly.

If you want mesos from NX

Sell singles. Divide the mesos you can get today by the NX price. Store listings show only asking prices, so ask in chat what each recently sold for. Each pet needs each skill only once, so demand for pet skills can run out. Remember the 96 hours.

Crates and looks

costs 3,500 NX, or 35,000 for eleven. It gives one permanent cosmetic, with a 7-day timer on the unopened box. The current pool runs from 4 Nov 8:00 UTC to the start of the 18 Nov maintenance, so older value sums are dead.

  • Decide before you equip. An unwanted crate item can be traded or turned into stamps by right-click, but only before it is equipped.
  • Stamps: 1 item gives 1 , and an unopened Signature Style set gives 2. The stamp shop sells an for 20, ten for 200, a for 5 and a for 10. Stamps expire 13 Jan 2027 at 07:59 UTC.
  • Region rules: players in Belgium, Slovakia and Brazil cannot buy Mystery items. Crate items obtained in the Netherlands cannot leave the account, but can become stamps.

Hair, face and skin coupons cost 1,700 to 7,500 NX. Mystery Hair and Mystery Face coupons are listed until 11 Nov 7:59 UTC. Clothes on sale are 10-day rentals at 700 to 1,200 NX, ending 18 Nov. Beauty Album slots are 16,000 NX for face and 20,000 for hair. Map effects like and are 300 NX, or 3,000 for eleven, and are purely cosmetic.

Not confirmed yet

  • Whether the 96-hour hold also limits gifting.
  • Whether items bought with Leaf Points can be traded.
  • Current crate odds and value after 4 Nov.
  • The level needed to use an SP Reset.
  • How much auto-potions are worth in practice. Nobody has tested it.
  • Warrior build variants: dexless and moreDoes dexless work in Classic World? Unproven, and nobody has posted results. What it gains at 30, what it loses from 40, and the armor and scroll limits most guides skip.
  • Spearman guideEstimated reach, Iron Will and the only warrior self-heal. Why polearm is the default but spear is no mistake, what v1.1.0 changed for Rush and absorb, and honest limits.
  • Page guideThe hardest single-target Final Attack, the crafted blunt line and the option of a shield. 2H blunt or 1H and shield, and when Threaten is worth its 30 SP.
  • Fighter guideRage, the only multi-target Final Attack and fast 2H weapons. SP order, axe or sword, a weapon plan that works without level 30 shops, and what is known to 70.
  • Warrior build: 1st job, your branch and gear you can getHow to spend 61 SP before level 30, how to choose between Fighter, Page and Spearman, and what gear you can actually obtain at each level, quests included.
  • Mage build variants: how much LUK?The one stat decision every mage faces. Three LUK plans compared on gear that really exists, what lukless actually costs, and why you can always add LUK but not remove it.
  • Cleric guideIs Cleric worth it? What Heal, Bless and Invincible really do in Classic World, party and solo SP orders, and where a mage with a single-target attack should train.
  • Ice/Lightning Wizard guideThe cheapest damage among mages: Cold Beam for single targets, Thunder Bolt once four mobs are in reach. SP order, when each spell pays, and what to do about the lean 40s and 50s.
