Mano
Lv. 20 boss on Thicket Around the Beach III, 7,420 HP. Do the Legend of the Snail steps first, then decide if the last one is worth a long wait.
Every number and name on this page is read live from the game data.
Most players come here for the last step of Legend of the Snail. Before you stand on this map for two hours, know what that step gives: no reward is listed for it, and the quest's own log ends with a joke at your expense. The first four steps are the real prize, and none of them need Mano.
Base timer one hour, more random since 21 Oct, so plan on at least that and do not set an exact alarm. If the boss is missing, try another channel, and log the kill on the boss timers page. Rules are in the boss overview.
Do these first
All Lv. 20, all from around Henesys and Ellinia.
| Step | Quest | What you do | Pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | has a book, and knows its author | 1,414 EXP, 460 mesos | |
| 2 | From on to in Ellinia | 2,021 EXP, 658 mesos | |
| 3 | 20 each of , and | 2,021 EXP, 658 mesos, 20 | |
| 4 | Back to Pia | 2,021 EXP, 658 mesos |
That is 7,477 EXP and 2,434 mesos, or 50 Mano kills of EXP, with no boss involved. Keep your shells: step 3 wants all three kinds.
Is the last step worth it?
asks for the , which the item text says comes only from Mano. Our data lists no reward for this step. In the quest log your character learns the shell grants no wish and just turns people into snails. The client lists a 50 HP restore and a one-hour morph. We have not tested what the morph does in play.
So a long wait buys a kill and a chance at the shell, at a rate nobody has counted, for no listed prize. If you want it anyway, hop channels rather than stand still. If not, skip it and go to Kerning PQ at 21, which is worth far more.
Getting there
is four visible east exits from : Right Around Lith Harbor, then , and the third thicket. Use the pathfinder from elsewhere.
While you wait
One clear of the map pays 266 EXP, nearly two Manos, from , , , and . So clear it rather than stand around.
In launch week (25-26 Oct) players reported long waits, camping and bots reaching Mano first. There is no fix for that except trying other channels, and we cannot promise a quiet one.
What it does
- Touch, 252 before defence. It is Mano's only damage. Treat 380 HP as a floor, which is our margin, not a measurement. Stay out of reach.
- Slow. Mano has a debuff skill, read as Slow. The game files give it 5 seconds, at most once a minute.
- Summons. Below 90% HP it can call 4 and 2 every 10 seconds, up to 30 at once. Kill the adds between hits, or the map fills.
- Two buffs. It also has two skills read as raising its own and nearby monsters' defence for 30 seconds. Those names are unconfirmed.
These figures are from the game files, not tested in Classic World.
Skills
- Slow
Casts Slow for 5 s every 60 s: you move slower. 100% chance on each player in reach; it hits an area 600 x 240 px around it.
- Summons monsters
Below 90% HP, summons 4 Snails and 2 Red Snails every 10 s, up to 30 at once.
- Area weapon defense upName unconfirmed
Raises the weapon defense of itself and monsters near it for 30 s every 10 s (value 25 in the game files).
- Area magic defense upName unconfirmed
Raises the magic defense of itself and monsters near it for 30 s every 10 s (value 25 in the game files).
Traits
- Aggressive
Attacks you on sight, before you hit it.
- Regen
Regains 74 HP and 1 MP at each regen tick. How often it ticks is not in the game files.
From the game files, not tested in Classic World. Skill names are our own. Where a name is marked unconfirmed, we could not prove what the skill does.
Who can do it
No solo level or kill time has been tested. The limits you can check are accuracy, below, and surviving the touch. Mano's M.DEF is 10 against W.DEF 20, so magic meets the softer defence.
Accuracy, by our estimate: 44 at Lv. 20, 52 at Lv. 15, 61 at Lv. 10. A Warrior at Lv. 20 with 20 DEX has about 36, so you need about 36 DEX, gear, or a few points in , which adds 5 at rank 1 and 20 at rank 15. See the boss overview for how this estimate works.
Drops
Reference data, unconfirmed. Our only row is the , and the item's own text backs it. If you see anything else, add it through the drop report.
Not confirmed yet
- Whether Pia gives anything for the last step.
- What the Slow and the summons really do. Report what you see.
- Warrior build variants: dexless and moreDoes dexless work in Classic World? Unproven, and nobody has posted results. What it gains at 30, what it loses from 40, and the armor and scroll limits most guides skip.
- Spearman guideEstimated reach, Iron Will and the only warrior self-heal. Why polearm is the default but spear is no mistake, what v1.1.0 changed for Rush and absorb, and honest limits.
- Page guideThe hardest single-target Final Attack, the crafted blunt line and the option of a shield. 2H blunt or 1H and shield, and when Threaten is worth its 30 SP.
- Fighter guideRage, the only multi-target Final Attack and fast 2H weapons. SP order, axe or sword, a weapon plan that works without level 30 shops, and what is known to 70.
- Warrior build: 1st job, your branch and gear you can getHow to spend 61 SP before level 30, how to choose between Fighter, Page and Spearman, and what gear you can actually obtain at each level, quests included.
- Mage build variants: how much LUK?The one stat decision every mage faces. Three LUK plans compared on gear that really exists, what lukless actually costs, and why you can always add LUK but not remove it.
- Cleric guideIs Cleric worth it? What Heal, Bless and Invincible really do in Classic World, party and solo SP orders, and where a mage with a single-target attack should train.
- Ice/Lightning Wizard guideThe cheapest damage among mages: Cold Beam for single targets, Thunder Bolt once four mobs are in reach. SP order, when each spell pays, and what to do about the lean 40s and 50s.
