Why you miss, about how much accuracy each mob needs, what a stat point or skill gives you, and how firm these numbers are.
Every number and name on this page is read live from the game data.
If you keep missing, fix that before anything else, because by our estimate each miss still costs MP or stars. At the same level as a mob, estimated full hits take about 3.3 times its avoid, and under about 2 times its avoid you likely cannot hit at all. Read a mob's avoid on its page, multiply, and you know where you stand.
Mob avoid comes from the game files. The rest of this page is an estimate.
Note
Estimated hit rate: your accuracy, cut by the level gap to any mob above you, rolls against the mob's avoid. This is a community estimate that nobody has tested in Classic World. Nexon has not published a formula. A rival model exists, so treat the numbers as direction and rough size. For your own character, use the accuracy tool.

Avoid does not rise evenly with level. and ask for far less than their level suggests, which would make them the natural picks for a low-accuracy character, but they spawn only around Florina Beach, and no way there is confirmed.
The level gap is the free fix
Each level a mob is above you adds about 4% to the accuracy you need on this model. A rival reading adds about half that. Mobs at or below your level add nothing.

The same-level column is the firmest. The gap columns vary by reading: Mushmom at 10 above is 132 here and about 114 on the rival reading.
Curse Eye goes from 73 to 87 at five levels up. That is 14 ACC, or about 29 DEX on a warrior. Dropping one map costs you nothing.
Being short hurts fast. At level 30 with 54 ACC, you hit a Curse Eye (level 33) about 20% of the time. With 74 ACC it is about 85%. By our estimate misses still cost MP or stars, so under twice the avoid you are probably throwing them away.
Base accuracy
Your main stat here is DEX, or INT for a Magician. Results round down.
A low-DEX warrior feels this first. At level 10 with 5 DEX you are about 21, enough for Ribbon Pigs and well short of Green Mushrooms, which need about 32 at level 10 and 27 at their own level.

No Magician skill mentions accuracy. Sword Mastery is the only weapon mastery that gives any. The others give something else: axe bleed, blunt critical damage, spear ignoring W.DEF, polearm speed, bow critical rate and speed, crossbow critical damage, claw attack and star recovery, dagger critical rate.
That is a real trade-off for warriors. A sword user gets +20 ACC, worth about 42 warrior DEX, for the same SP an axe, blunt, spear or polearm user spends on something else. Bowmen and Thieves get theirs in 1st job, whichever weapon they use.
Potions cover small gaps, if you can get them. adds 5 ACC for 10 minutes. No shop sells it, and in Lith Harbor gives you one. adds 7 for 15 minutes and costs 600 mesos from in Henesys, whose store may need citizenship, which is not confirmed.
What this means for builds
Low-DEX warriors. A level 70 warrior with 5 DEX has about 69 base ACC, against about 93 at 56 DEX. That is why a dexless build needs accuracy from gear. See Warrior build variants.
Mages. Can spells miss? This is not settled. Some reads of the client say spells use the same hit check as physical attacks, others say every spell lands. Nexon has not said, and we found no test either way and no player report of a spell missing. Treat missing as possible against mobs above your level. Either way, DEX does nothing for a mage. The accuracy tool shows spell figures only as "if spells roll the check", using the Magician row above.
Everyone. has 49 avoid and needs an estimated 157 at level 80, and 219 from level 70. Boss accuracy is a real gate, so check it before you plan a fight.
Help us settle it
Nobody has run the test that would settle this. Make 100 attacks at a known ACC against a mob 5 or more levels above you, and count the misses. One physical class and one mage would be enough. Post your result in our Discord.
